Danzas Argentinas - Danza del Gaucho Matrero
Alberto Ginastera

Danzas Argentinas - Danza del Gaucho Matrero
With directions such as furiosamente (“furiously”), violente (“violent”), and salvaggio (“wild”), Ginastera left no doubt as to how the third dance, Danza del gaucho matrero (“Dance of the Arrogant Cowboy”), should be performed. Ginastera makes use of gratuitous dissonance in this piece, often using minor seconds to harmonize otherwise simple melodies. The structure is an approximate rondo (ABACDACD), and the thematic material alternates between chromatic passages (sections A and B) and highly tonal, melodic passages (C and D). The jubilant sound of the C section is achieved by harmonizing every single melody note with a major chord, even if they are totally foreign to the tonic key. The D section, by contrast, does not use a single accidental; here, jubilance is expressed through the use of brisk tempo, strong rhythm, fortissimo, and a simple, majestic chord progression. As might be expected from the savageness of the rest of the piece, the coda is anything but subtle: ffff dynamics and a tremendous glissando bring the dance to a close.

"The Little Bunny" - Erik Tjahja

The Little Bunny - Erik Tjahja
This is my original composition, about a little bunny that hops around the bush looking for food. It occasionally stops for a while when it found its food. This is the time when you have to play the acciaccatura notes. You need to jump very quickly to hit these notes and get ready to play again!

A very short composition that provides some challenges for piano students at at least grade 1 level. This piece is a piece that can be used as a teaching piece. Some of the new things they will learn (if never learn before): staccato, staccato-legato articulation, acciaccatura, semiquavers and control of jumps on left hand as well as sudden jumps on right hand. This piece can also be used for simple chord analysis for those in grade 4/5 as this piece only use chord I, IV and V as a little demonstration of what kind of song you can make with these simple progression (although there are many others out there that also use this simple chord progression)

Stay tuned, sheet music should be available for download in the near future.

Piano duet from "The Secret" - Jay Chou

'The Secret Piano Duet' - Jay Chou

This piano duet is taken from 2007 Jay Chou's movie: The Secret. The piece was played as a duet between him and a girl that come from the past, Lu Xiaoyu. It was after they perform this piece, Ye Xianglun (Jay Chou) realized that the girl was visible only to him. This duet is short and sweet, yet it depict somewhat like a western romantic piano music with rather chromatic melody.
